Dr Ian Hedley joins the team from London where he trained at the world renowned Guy’s, Kings and St Thomas’ hospitals. Following his graduation he worked in private general practice in central London. Dr Hedley brings a unique perspective to dentistry after training as a physical therapist in San Diego, California and working in his own private practice for almost 10 years prior to qualifying as a dental surgeon. He is holistically minded with an emphasis on functional treatments for his patients. He has a particular interest in jaw joint (TMJ) function and dysfunction and related symptoms of headaches and neck pain.
He enjoys providing exquisite aesthetic dental solutions for his patients believing “a tooth in a person’s head is worth more to them than a diamond” and all aspects of general dentistry. He is passionate about early intervention orthodontic and orthopaedic work for growing children to guide facial growth and give the child the opportunity to have a broad wide smile, well developed and more attractive face, reduced need for extractions of permanent teeth and lower incidence of sleep disordered breathing and postural pain.
He has been fortunate to have been inspired and mentored by some of the most progressive thinkers within this field. He is committed to dental excellence and thus commits a lot of his spare time to continuing education programmes around the world having recently studied in Dubai, Florida, London and Sydney. His dental philosophy is to treat his patients the way he would expect himself and his family to be treated. His patients comment on his relaxed demeanour, easy chair side manner and excellent communication skills.
