Dr Caitlin M Agnew is a female Specialist Paediatric Dentist.
Caitlin completed her BDS in Otago, followed by working for the Auckland District health Board (ADHB) for two years as a maxillo-facial and dental house surgeon. After two years in private practice and a passion for Paediatric Dentistry, she moved to Sydney where she was employed as a Paediatric dental registrar for 3 years at the Sydney Children’s hospital and at the Westmead Centre for Oral health. She completed her DClinDent through the University of Sydney and is a member of the Royal college of dental surgeons, in her speciality.
Caitlin holds the vice-president appointment for the Australasian Academy of Paediatric dentistry. She currently works part-time in private practice, part-time at Starship Children’s hospital, and part-time as a Mum to her active toddler, Theo. Her main interests include paediatric oral surgery and providing care for children with special needs, dental anomalies and enamel defects. Caitlin’s current research ventures include: investigating paediatric oral pathology in a large tertiary referral centre, investigating the family impact of child orofacial cleft and the effectiveness of oral health promotion interventions during adolescence: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
She is currently part of the research team at the Starship Children’s Hospital investigating the Validation of a Respiratory Checklist for children with Cerebral Palsy in New Zealand.
