Dr Don Schwass is a male Specialist Prosthodontist.
Dr Schwass Bachelor gained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (with distinction) from the University of Otago in 1989. In 2007 Dr Schwass completed his specialist qualification with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent) Prosthodontics, in 2009.
Dr Don Schwass has been the Clinical Director for the Faculty of Dentistry since 2016, where he has been able to draw on over 30 years of clinical experience to inform effective governance of clinical activities.
In addition to his university appointment, Dr Schwass has worked part-time as a Specialist Prosthodontist in Private Practice here in Dunedin since 2010.
Dr Schwass will offer ongoing care for existing patients at Dentistry on Highgate, and welcomes direct enquiries or referrals from other practitioners for new patients.
Initially Dr Schwass meets with patients to discuss their treatment needs and to collect the necessary clinical records, before developing a customised treatment plan to address the patient’s individual requirements. Dr Schwass offers a full range of specialist prosthodontic services including removable prostheses (bitesplints, dentures and partial dentures, implant overdentures) and fixed prostheses (crown and bridgework, implant restorations). He has a particular interest in the full mouth rehabilitation of worn and/or erosion affected dentitions.
