Dr Jeffery J Booth

BDS (Otago), Dip.Clin.Dent (Rest) (Otago), FRACDS, General Dentist

Dr Jeffery J Booth is a male General Dentist.

After graduating with first a BSc then a BDS from Otago University, Jeff continued his education while working as a House Surgeon at Dunedin Hospital with the intention of studying Oral Surgery. However, once the primary exams were achieved, he put further study on hold while he spent the next 10 years learning about General Dentistry, working in the UK, sailing a boat back to New Zealand, and starting a family.

On arriving back in New Zealand, Jeff established himself at what is now The Wellington Dental Practice. He picked up his study again, completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Restorative), and was admitted by examination to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (Restorative).

His passion is comprehensive restorative dentistry. He has extensive long term involvement and success with dental implants and is constantly fascinated by the artistry and aesthetics involved in restoring a patient’s confident smile.

Learning is ongoing. Jeff was amongst the first dentists in New Zealand to see the benefits of CAD-CAM (Cerec) dentistry. This technology has evolved significantly over the past 20 years – what seemed like a game changer at the time has now become an industry standard. He has found that the results achieved with this computer based technology for design and restoration has greatly enhanced his practice and is sought after by his patients.

The greatest compliment a dentist can receive is referrals from patients and colleagues, and this is exactly how Jeff has built his busy practice. His Surgery Manager, Practice Manager, and Front Office Coordinator are an integral part of his team, as is the support of The Wellington Dental Practice ancillary team.

Jeff spent several years as Chairman of the Central region peer review. Here he was tasked with resolving disputes between patients and Dentists. He has also been expert witness for the Health and Disability Commission, as well as Chairman of the Wellington Branch of the NZDA.
