Dr Karen J Brook is a female Specialist Orthodontist.
Dr Karen Brook graduated as a dentist from the University of Otago in 1977, gaining her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction. In 1981 she became a specialist orthodontist after completing the orthodontic post-graduate programme at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Karen moved to London and spent the following 2 years working at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and Kingston Hospital. In 1984 Karen returned to New Zealand and in 1995, Karen opened the specialist orthodontic practice in Rothesay Bay that is now known as “Brook and Timmins Specialist Orthodontists”. Karen is a past president of the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists (NZAO) and is currently a committee member of the NZAO Mentoring Committee. Karen has been actively involved in developing the NZAO Wish for a Smile Trust which provides orthodontic treatment to patients who would otherwise be unable to access orthodontic care.
