Dr Ken Joyes is a male General Dentist.
Dr Ken graduated from Otago University in 1982 and worked as a Dental House Surgeon at Kew Hospital Invercargill, where he met and married his wife Wendy. In early 1985, they moved to Nelson where Dr Ken went to work for Dr Geoff Candy in Stoke to gain some general practice experience. In 1989, he was invited to join the team establishing the Hospital Dental Department for the NMDHB.
Whilst working at Nelson Hospital, Dr Ken was elected onto the National Executive of the New Zealand Hospital and Community Dental Surgeons Association (NZHDCDA) and served as National President of the NZHDCDA for 2 years. He has also twice served as President of the Nelson Branch of the New Zealand Dental Association.
In 2001,Dr Ken returned to general practice in Stoke. Dr Ken’s special interest areas in dentistry include managing patients with complex medical conditions, i.e., those with physical and developmental disabilities and patients who are apprehensive about receiving dental care.
