Dr Mary A Engelbrecht is a female General Dentist.
Mary was born and raised in South Canterbury, with the privilege of a rural upbringing on a sheep and beef farm. While attending secondary school at Craighead in Timaru, Mary decided to study dentistry. A couple of the reasons for this career choice were the interest in helping people experience good health, and playing a role in someone having a confident smile. It seemed like a rewarding role. Also, practising dentistry is both practical, and involves ongoing academic learning – a perfect mix.
Mary studied her BDS at the University of Otago, enjoying life as a student in Dunedin. After graduating in 2018, she gained her first employment as a dentist in Gisborne, working in a private clinic and practising a wide scope of general dentistry. She took off half a year to walk Te Araroa (a trail that runs the length of New Zealand) – a life-changing experience.
As of 2022, Mary has been settling in well into life in the Manawatu and is really glad to be joining the team at Feilding Dental Centre and meeting more of the friendly Feilding population.
