Dr Renate Gunther is a female General Dentist who speaks Portuguese (as well as English).

Renate believes that beautiful smiles are just as important as functional smiles when it comes to dental care. She's passionate about dental health, and working to improve the health and smiles of the people of Northland.

Renate grew up in Curitiba, Brazil. After earning her Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery (finishing 198th among more than 30,000 candidates) she joined her father's dental practice. She continued her studies at the University of São Paulo, becoming a specialist in Restorative Dentistry. She then spent time working in Seattle and San Francisco, before returning to Brazil for more training – in implants, prosthodontics, endodontics and occlusion – and eventually purchasing her father's dental practice.

Renate dedicates herself to both scientific and aesthetic thinking. She's passionate about procedures that achieve a balance between the functional and visual parts of the face, including Botox, dermal fillers, and collagen-boosting microneedling. Her enhancement procedures vary according to each unique patient's facial structure and features, but overall she aims for subtle results that restore a younger version of the patient and accentuate natural features.

Renate's unique skillset makes her uniquely qualified to administer these procedures. As a highly skilled dentist she's extremely knowledgeable about pain relief, and she has an intimate understanding of facial anatomy (including dental structure). Her Brazilian heritage includes a strong focus on self-care, and Brazil has a well-deserved reputation for appearance medicine.

Renate is a member of the IFAAS (International Fellowship in Advanced Aesthetic Sciences) and continually upskills to ensure she can use new products effectively, learn new procedures, and get the best possible results. This area of treatment is incredibly rewarding for Renate, as it improves the emotional wellbeing and confidence of her patients as well as their physical appearance.
