Rob Aitken joined Mackie Dental Specialists in 2013. Rob is a general dentist with a specialist interest in the field of dental implants. Rob was at the forefront of implant dentistry in 1988 when it was first introduced to the general public as a science validated method of treating missing teeth. Rob lectures nationally and internationally on various topics related to dental implants. Rob limited his dental practice to implant based dentistry in 1999 and opened the Pembroke Practice where many patients have been successfully treated with implant therapy. Since 1988 Rob has continued to study the clinical aspects of implant treatment and has organised many dental meetings and seminars for the local and national dental community. Rob also currently holds a position at the Waikato District Health Board as Principal Dental Officer where he is involved in commmunity oral health care.
