Dr Rosalind M Peart-Jackson is a female General Dentist.
Rosalind Peart graduated from Wits University in South Africa in 1989. She immediately went to work for a colleague running two private general dental practices in Johannesburg. While this certainly provided a rapid learning curve and good experience, Ros decided private practice was not for her and she travelled to the UK to consider her options there with a thought to emigrating.
Chance stepped in and a position as Dental Officer for a gold mining company became available. For the next three years, Ros worked for Goldfields taking care of the dental needs of their massive mining workforce. This was an almost entirely surgical role and although very daunting at first, the experience of managing serious trauma and infection was to prove invaluable in years to come.
Heading for 30 and contemplating starting a family, Ros decided to leave the mining environment and headed back to Johannesburg and private practice. After three years and with a beautiful baby girl of 18 months, Ros moved to the Cape and started her own private practice. Somerset West in the gorgeous wine lands of the Cape was home for the next few years. Surrounded by supportive colleagues and an excellent network of specialist dentists, running an exclusive private dental practice proved enjoyable and clinically very rewarding.
As Ros’s daughter grew, Ros realised that her daughter’s opportunities outside of South Africa would be vastly better. So, in 2004 Ros moved to New Zealand taking an eight year old Liz with her. She was very fortunate to arrive in the lovely town of Cambridge and work for a colleague for 18 months while she found her feet and familiarised herself with the dental world in New Zealand. She was struck by how kind and helpful Kiwis are and in particular the team of people she worked with.
After 18 months in Cambridge, a local dentist decided to retire and Ros acquired his practice. In the last ten years, Cambridge Dental has grown and has moved to a purpose built building where it continues to evolve. Ros’s nurse, Pat, has been with her since the moment she picked up a mirror and probe in New Zealand and Liz, Practice Manager, has stood by her side since acquiring Cambridge Dental.
Ros’s aspiration for excellence in clinical care has never dimmed and she still aims to improve her knowledge and skills on a daily basis. October 2017 herald’s the arrival of some leading edge technology and equipment which Cambridge Dental will be amongst the first to acquire in New Zealand.
