Dr Vivienne Levy is a female General Dentist.
I was born in Liverpool and trained as a dentist at the London Hospital Medical College qualifying in 1986. I worked in London for a few years in various dental practices part time, as well as getting a qualification in Forensic Odontology in 1988 (LHMC) followed by part time work as an Honourary Lecturer at the London Hospital.
After a year or so travelling round the world and doing various locums, I bought Gavin Cumberpatch's practice here in Halswell in 1991. Over the years the practice has grown from a 2 chair practice to what you see today.
I enjoy all aspects of dentistry but have a special interest in Paediatric Dentistry. I keep up to date with current changes in dentistry and attend many courses and lectures. I am a member of various professional bodies including the NZ Dental Association, where I am a past- president of the local Canterbury Branch.
The Forensic side of my career is busy too. I am the Forensic Odontology Co-ordinator for Canterbury, West Coast and Nelson working for the Police and the Coroner. I was deployed to Phuket after the Boxing Day Tsunami to help identify the victims of the Tsunami. Most recently I was the DVI Dental Ante-Mortem and Reconcilliation Co-ordinator for the Christchurch Earthquake.
