Miss Hilary M Barker is a female Oral Health Therapist.
After 13 years in the dental industry in England, working both in the private and NHS sectors, Hilary returned to Aotearoa. Upon returning she has graduated from AUT with a Bachelor of Health Science (Oral Health) degree, with First Class Honours.
She prides herself on helping put all patients at ease as soon as she greets them at reception, especially the anxious. She does this by allowing patients time to get comfortable, taking treatment at a pace they feel comfortable with, and discussing every step of their care.
Believing that education never stops, she is always reading the latest literature and peer-reviewed studies. Hilary then translates this into her patient care – ensuring she is always providing the most up to date and evidence based treatment. She has a strong belief that by gently educating and encouraging her patients it allows them to take control of their oral health.
As well as working at The Tooth Company, Hilary is a clinical educator at AUT.
