After joining Symes de Silva & Associates as a Dental Assistant in 1996, I found my niche and went on to study Dental Hygiene at the School of Dentistry in Dunedin, graduating with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2001. Dental Hygiene is becoming accepted as a necessary part of your dental health through treatment and education. As a Hygienist I practice predominately in the area of Periodontal (gum) care and Oral disease prevention. Periodontal care provides an understanding of the importance of our gums as the support for our teeth. Cosmetic treatment is also a service that we provide. Patients place a lot more emphasis on the way they look and teeth whitening can ensure you have a smile that you desire. My goal is to continue educating you to increase your knowledge of your oral health.
